Re-Sale of Former Chapel- Bethel Remains Open
In light of the resale of the former chapel, the members and friends of Bethel would like to take this opportunity to confirm that Bethel remains open and active.
It is hard to believe that over ten years have passed since, in the face of accelerating repair & maintenance costs and declining membership, the decision was taken to relocate to the former Vestry building at the rear of the site.
The newly renovated vestry, now affectionally referred to as the 'New Chapel / Bethel Newydd', was officially opened on the first Sunday of 2014. The multi-purpose building provides a congregational chapel seating approx. 100 persons, meeting room, kitchen and toilet facilities with additional digital projection and sound facilities. Over the last ten years the new chapel has been used for services, funerals and christenings as well as a range of weekday meetings, concerts, choir rehearsals and community events.
It is deeply upsetting to see the former chapel, which holds so many precious memories, in a state of despair. We hope and pray that an appropriate buyer will soon be found and that the dear old chapel will be given a new lease of life. In the meantime, the cause of Bethel continues. The chapel remains open for services every Sunday with week-day services and events as advertised. Further information, including service times, can be found on our website (Cartref / Home)and Facebook Page.
In 2016, Bethel celebrated its bicentenary - 200 years of service at the heart of the village. In ever changing times, we give thanks that the door of Bethel remains open for all and pray that it will remain so for generations to come.
As always, we extend a warm welcome to anyone wishing to join us !
